this happens when i am using my shimano aerlex 8000 and has caused the shock leader to bust off and has done it on both the 12 foot abu and the 14 foot fin, i double check everything before casting but only seems to do it if i get a good load up on the rod. I like the reel but I am trying to find a solution to prevent the tripping of the bail arm during a cast so I don't lose my terminal tackle, thank god the penn 850 does not do it which has become my go to reel lately. Would removing the bail arm wire so I just have the line roller only help this issue (I know it may potentially void the warranty)
