The problem is this.
For gurnard at least, they are usually WAAAAY out there, and a pulley rig or some other clipped down system is required to get enough distance to reach them.
I'm talking about local beaches here, Clifton to Mohaka.
I'm sure that less depleted fishing areas might have Gurnard in close (like we once did) and the ledger rig would be perfect.
But at the moment (again this is my experience only) its a catch22 situation. You need the distance, but you also need the ledger rig..
