Dont give up Andrew. Try round Whirinaki reef or Gill Road. In fact I'd pass on east clive for a while and try the Northern areas a bit more. Dunno what the kahawai are doing there at the moment but its worth a shot. Dont know if you use floats but I'd definitely use them on one line during the day anyway. Might help improve your catch rate with that species.
