Seen one of these reels in the local charity shop and wouldn't mind getting it for the veritas just wondering with it being a level wind would this still be ok to surfcast with, it has an adjustable centrifugal brake on it along with an aluminium spool and still in its original box with manual.
Would like some advice before I go rushing in and buying it. Apologies for asking so many questions about gear I am new to playing with overheads and too used to dealing with fixed spool reels. was thinking of starting with a second hand reel before I go buying a brand new one so I can get the feel of casting with overheads and not too much money lost if these reels turn out to not be my cup of tea.
