I just like to add that baiting every 10min is with to rods - so really you have a fresh bait in the water every 5min. For those that want to sit out there and sip tea or relax with a can this will be less desirable - you can't have it both ways - you either are out there to catch fish or to have a picnic( sorry not trying to be crude) To me by moving away down the beach away from the crabs are crazy - its like putting a burely out and then going and fishing a totally different beach? We all love to find a pipi bed to fish off but crabs...crabs move more frequently than shell fish but by fishing an hour or 3 you have created a concentration of them - a little nest that if /when the fish come in whamo! But i agree its hard fishing keeping your bait n your hooks - you choose picnic or fish?
