Sorry Geno Octi is not crab proof. Mark r and I had mornings when or baits were gone with ten minutes. (We were up against side plate sized crabs) These were floated octi on metre traces suspended well above the bottom. What makes the difference appears to be swell movement, when used with a float the crab finds the moving target a real challenge. Interesting I have not had a crab problem since being in the BOP, bait loss stops on dark and even then it appears to be bait fish. My snapper so far have been though full of crab.
