I only went out with one overweight Chinese woman. The others were mostly unattractive but not overweight. There's not really a problem with obesity in Asia. Just physically, the people are different. If they eat unhealthily, they don't really gain weight but the fat builds on their internal organs (e.g. the heart) which obviously is a concern but it doesn't manifest outwardly.

As for religious discussion, no, these people don't know anything about Taoism, Confucianism, or even Buddhism. I don't think that these topics are promoted in today's China.

Finally, there's always the suggestion that these women are looking for money and/or a visa. I can say that I've experienced this only once from a woman from Shanghai. I'm trying to remember why I got this impression, though. I suggested going to either a film or a play that she suggested for our second date and she said the play. And then I paid for it. And then she decided she didn't want to go out anymore. So I called her out for suggesting this expensive date and she ended up giving me the money back for her ticket.

So...I thought she was an awful person but I can't remember exactly why.

But everyone else was genuine (or at least as genuine as non-Asian women). It wasn't about money or visas. They're just out there looking for Brad Pitt and that's why most of them are still single.
