I was so close to taking £15,000 out of my bank account and putting it all in Bitcoin back when it was worth £30. I would have had about £1.5 million today had I done that.
I can't remember what it was that caused me to be paranoid about my bank account being frozen. Maybe the stories about the US government freezing bank accounts of Americans living abroad who haven't filed for taxes or something. I also remember that there was some financial downturn in Greece at the time so there were stories that people in Greece were buying Bitcoin.
I remember when it went up to £350 and I said, "Man, I could have had £150,000 had I invested that £15,000." Now it's £1.5 million that I could have had. That's the kind of thing that people kill themselves over.
And £15,000...even if I lost that, who cares? I've managed to acculate another £15,000 just in the past, I don't know, two years or so.
Well...who could have guessed that it would go up 100 fold? I probably would have tried to take my money out when it was worth £350 anyway. And that's another thing. I've heard that it's difficult to get your money out.
