I would love to do a Career Day at one of my old high schools. I wonder how one goes about doing this. Are they just asking parents? Or alumni?

I only had one Career Day that I can recall. Some guy came in and talked about...man, I don't know. He wanted to be a harness racer but ended up doing something else. He seemed a cool dude. Not a parent, as far as I'm aware.

So actually, maybe Career Day isn't as influential as I initially thought. But at least I remember that much.

And besides, I'd do give the straight dope so that would probably be more memorable. All of these classes are a waste of time. Just learn a trade in a niche field and run with it.

Also, leave the country. Or at least the ghetto.

Although, I looked at a video and apparently even the private school that I went to is now 50% Mexican. 25% white. When I was there, it was probably 80% white, 15% Mexican. What happened?

Still, the advice stands. Go back to Mexico. Not in a racist way (necessarily) but it's quite possible that you can have a better life in Mexico than you will in the ghetto.

I'm not sure if this was also on Career Day but we had somebody from the local casino come in and talk about career opportunities there. That was probably more realistic career advice. Although, from my Facebook stalking, I can't think of anyone who works in the casinos.
