Hiya Guys, I agree with all that has been said. My local College is now advising their (better) apprentice students to go and work for the Dealerships, as the College is of the opinion that the independent workshop will soon cease to exist. As for the Dealers, my local ones cannot handle the amount of work they already have, waiting times of 3 weeks for a simple immo reprogramme is common at one Renault dealership. The lack of skilled Technicians is a real problem, more for the Dealers than the independents. I have come across apprentices who can barely read and write, let alone be let loose with a high tech lap top and scanner. In short, The V.M.s have gone too far with the electronics and there are very few people in the trade who will be capable of working on or even understanding the next generation of systems.Probably this is the reason for the move to remote diagnostics!! regards, Gwyn
