Morning all,
The question was a general question not aimed at anyone in person but at a general group of techs who do not attend training but still want to repair systems they dont understand and always find an excuse why they "cant" make the training.
I was NOT talking about people who do attend training throughtout the year as and when they can whether its two courses or ten courses the point is you're at least trying.I'm talking about the people who do not try but expect a silver bullet when they take on something they know nothing about.

Martin and Mark are perfect examples of what I'm talking about here,they have all the odds against them but still make the training as they see they require.
I moved countries to get my basic training for the reasons Mark stated and ended up staying here.

Peter you seem to have taken this as a personal dig which is not what was intended,I had addressed the question to all for everone's thoughts on it.
I should have started a seperate thread for it in hindsight now as it was in relation to any training not a specific course but thats hindsight for you.

The FMN runs training courses throughout the year which I have attended and met alot of excellant techs.UKAT has arranged one course that I'm aware of (CAN BUS by Dearborn systems) that was arranged by James Mc Callum (I think).I attended it and again met some excellant techs.The sites are two differant resources and cant be directly compared for training events I dont think.
My original post was in hope of meeting some of the guys on here from over the years that I have alot of respect for and putting a face to the name.I have been a member on here for a lot longer than I have been a member of the FMN but I have met alot more of my fellow techs from the FMN due to training.

I have a deep pride in what I do as I suspect alot of people on here do and sometimes it gets to you when you repeatly see people getting money taken off them to 'guess' repair by techs who know nothing about the system they are working on but still take the money to not fix the car and in doing so give us all a bad name.
