Dave Hill
The worry that I have about sending any of my guys on any courses, is that I reckon they would see it as a day off or an excuse for a "jollie"! The people who gain the most from these courses are the ones who are dead keen on self development & unfortunately they are a rare breed.
You get out what you put in I reckon, & I am often disappointed when I test the dedication of my staff. Most of them would benefit from taking the "Fundamentals Of Motor Vehicle Technology" book home & reading it cover to cover. I have offered them the book to read & still it remains in the drawer of my desk .
On the subject of training courses. On the few that I have attended, I have learned how systems work & how to test & measure critical components. However it would be good to do some tests on systems with faults, although I understand that this creates some practical problems. Maybe waveforms taken from faulty vehicles could be used to demonstrate what can go wrong in the field.
Cheers all
