In the back of the mind of a lot of small garage proprietors, is the worry that a lot of time, effort and money can be spent training someone only to have them leave to work for a competitor or even set-up just down the road. Having trained someone to a high level, good pay and conditions are not always enough to retain them.
It's happened to me and I suspect quite a few others.
