So what is the difference between an OEM cat and a cheap aftermarket one?........is it just that the dealer makes a bigger profit My understanding of a cat is that if it is not physically damaged and the engine is running as it should, then it should last the lifetime of the vehicle.......what wears out on a cat?. The cat heats up and the ceramics coatings will convert the gases that pass over the surface If this is the case, when you fit a cheap cat and it passes the emission test, then why should it not do so 12 months later.......unless the engine management/engine mechanics has a problem that was not sorted correctly the first time around Peter...open to correction |
