    Hi Paul,Steve
To partly answer your question, the c2i numbers are encryption numbers and micro-second switching adjustment times, this allows the injector to be matched to a precise target,ie amount of fuel delivered. It is not a good idea to just re-enter the numbers as this is not really curing the problem. The reason it loses power etc is because the vehicle has detected that the injectors have gone outside of the parameters of emission limits, this means they are possibly faulty and if serious enough, could cause engine damage. There could be other faults causing this. As to why the vehicle does this on high mileage vehicles is down to the software written by ford, the reason is that after a set length operating period, dependant on other parameters, it is possible that the emission limits could be exceeded and Ford wants this checked, ie injectors taken out and tested, repaired or replaced if required.
