Sold my wifes 2003 mondeo 3 years ago when a bmw e30 1989 tourer 316 came along with 1 owner and 50k miles on clock.
She loves it and its cost zero in repairs.
I Have a
1990 200tdi defender.everyday use.
1990 disco 200tdi. for longer journeys.
1969 landrover series 2a lwb pick up, for short journeys for carrying loads.
1960 series 2 swb for fun.
My son has a 1989 toyota hilux pick up. Brilliant for shooting from at night. Seemingly indestructible.
My other son has an astra van diesel 1999 that blew its fly by wire pump on previous owner who scrapped it. I fitted older mechanical pump and threw away all electrics. Its been very reliable.
The only car with an ecu is the bmw and they are fixable.
I don,t trust modern crap.
I just earn a living from it.
