I don't think his view can be simply labelled 'interfering' in internal British politics, because he's a centrally placed EU politician, he's commenting on matter of vital interest to the whole of the EU, and the UK is still part of the EU, for a little while anyway. So he's perfectly entitled to saw what he thinks, indeed, he's probably bound to say a few truths, regardless of whether the politicians in the UK like it or not. And his criticism was aimed squarely at the people who led the British people up the garden path about Brexit and their absurd narrative that the whole thing was gonna be easy as pie and actually make life better and more prosperous outside compared to inside. That's what he was on about, not the entire campaign.
