And the LD/Green vote could also be a pox on both your houses vote as usual and in response to political chaos blamed on the two main parties (though the blame should be fixed squarely on the Tory party).
To simply read it as pro-remain is wrong.
There was no talk of a confirmatory vote, giving people the chance to change their minds, when the referendum was held. I can see why leave voters see this as a ruse by the political establishment to reverse a result they do not like.
Labour promised to honour the result of the referendum. They should do all they can to help get the best withdrawal deal possible.
Is there really a groundswell of opinion in favour of a second referendum? I don't see it.
Considering the mess the political class have made of this, I suppose it's possible they might choose to pass the buck back to the people in the form of a second referendum.
In any case, would the result of a second referendum be any less divisive than the first? Isn't it likley to be more divisive?
I don't see an easy answer.
