I would maintain that there is a qualitative difference between instant publishing platforms that rely on massive exploitation of resources to power them (as well on peoples' adiction to electronic toys) and those that rely on interaction at a more human level and pace. The days of helpful (true?) information being obtainable via the former may well be numbered. The days of the power structures that enable them surely are but in the meantime we can still glean enough to give ourselves coherent ideas about what's going on while its still going on. There is very little on walls and in print that goes as far as most of what is available online but its value lies in its comparative permanence, to my way of thinking. Accoustic guitars will still be playable after the power gets cut off.
