Yup, Walter, I read all the posts which is why I asked about the insistence of seeing women as eternal victims, for ever and always oppressed by male lechery. And thanks, by the way, for the laugh - almost as funny as the original 'broken' story, that Ms Edwardes was 'just letting women know' so they could vote accordingly. Really? Seriously? Don't you even wonder about the timing of this revelation? Johnson has been a public figure for a long time and yet there has been no mention of this story. So why is Ms Edwardes trundling it out now?
I'll say it again - dealing with unwanted sexual attention by friends, co-workers, bosses, Uncle Tom Cobbley and all is something grown-ups do. She was an adult when this allegedly happened, a journalist so presumably good with words and she couldn't come up with a witty put-down that would have got her message across? This constant infantilisation of women, that we are all really hot-house flowers, delicate blossoms who can't cope with robust language in the House of Commons or nasty people on social media or a guy who has trouble keeping his hands to himself doesn't do us any favours.
