Shingles attacks the nervous system. Ordinary painkillers give little to no relief and the agony can be so intense you often can't even move without being overwhelmed by it. I had a bad attack once and was in such state I had to crawl inch by inch across the floor to get to my phone to ring a doctor before passing out mid call. -To be avoided at all costs.
