Had zoster since childhood. Small nuisance, no biggie. Then, recently, a first bout of shingles. - Archived Message

Never been vaccinated against it. Not interested. No very useful help. When this first - medium painful - bout arrived, at a time when I was down a bit with some unidentified infection-attempt by something else, I did what I often do now with health eruptions: mega doses of Vitamin C; in my case about ten grams a day of timed-release tabs, every hour or two, by mouth. All ropiness alleviated within 36 hours. Gone shortly after. (There were shamanic inputs to the self-treatment as well, but I won't detail them for fear of giving John a stroke!) Though nowhere near Ken's trouble, it was pretty damned painful. I take a gram of C morning and evening as a prophylactic dose against all attempted infections/eruptions, together with the twice-daily doses of cannabis plant; plus the regular-for-many-years twice-daily shamanic practice; plus a daily physical work-load that keeps the entire physique working - somewhat wearily these days, but still functioning! And still pretty well, all told, pushing 80... Still heartfelt grateful for the NHS, though, which has - literally - saved my life a couple of times; and still wishing just deserts to all the Tory scum like Ridley (detailed by Scrabb above in his post about the NHS) who aim to destroy it, in favour of the execrable US monstrosity, constructed solely to feed the criminal gics' psychopathic money-lust. Just like the Big Pharma narrative-control push to hook us all on compulsory vaxxing. Damn all those foul crooks to perdition! Populist insurgency now, to save our NHS! BTW, an old Cymraeg name for shingles is 'yr eryr'- 'the eagle'; because of the raptor-shaped rash that sometime appears round sufferers' midriffs. (Not many people know that...)
