Thanks Jamie. I don't think it's been a double bluff. More like when you're playing gin rummy and you're holding cards that score higher and cards that score lower. You hope to make a set from the higher scoring cards but you've got a plan with the lower scoring cards too as a backup plan. To the establishment corbyn is the less favourable option of course, but he isn't a lone card whose only use is to be discarded. He can be used (he's proved that with multiple capitulations), and in the meantime he's useful to provide the illusion of a good alternative, so that people think there is still something worth saving in this political system. I just think that the power in the country runs with multiple back up plans to prevent change that might yield tangible good for the poor and the foreign and the environment (basically all the things that get in the way of putting more money into fewer hands). It is an unbreakable system. Like a runaway Diesel engine. The only way you stop it before it explodes in your face is by cutting the fuel or starving the air flow. All that said, if we're admitting we've given up on real change, then your hope for even concessionary tidbits is fair enough. If we're in prison with no hope of release, another hour a day in the yard is better than merely hoping for freedom . So I can see that logic, I just don't like that it's being discussed like its the best option. Cheers
