Christianity: theism; salvation through sacrifice + grace. Turn the other cheek; other-centred: compassion. Despite all the shit the world is good. Grace must be earned.
Buddhism: largely atheistic. Man-centred: watch yourself and you'll get all you need or can get. The world is simply shit.
Islam: Christianity simplified for those of a more logical bent: rubbing out the Trinity; declare you're a Muslim and you're a Muslim, above others... Simple duties. Holy a war a feature, not a bug.
One thing, for me, about the west today, the US, most of Europe, and the western mindset elsewhere, is that it is not Christian, it's post-Christian (if it ever was), and increasingly anti-Christian. Of course there's ammo for this - but not in the Christianity of Christ, the Holy Spirit, the apostles and the church fathers - which is the only stuff that counts!
