"Strange old world when the 'war crime' debate seems to take up more time discussing destruction of culture over destruction of people; not unintentional maybe and people are replaceable of course." At first sight it might seem so, but of course, the best way to destroy a people utterly is to destroy their individual culture and way of life: their ancient architecture which is their visible history and often that of their religion too, their art: their collective creation in every field... take away all visible frames of reference to where they came from and what they are...then their literature and language can be targeted for eradication.
