I can see what you are getting at Rhis - as long maintaining that "when I die the whole world dies with me" - in as far as nothing else can be established. This outrageous idea, which others take exception to as it denies them an independent existence outside my perceptions, and possibly an inheritance too... doesn't conflict with my very strictly "scientific" understanding and belief in everything, including the primacy of "normal" heterosexuality in animals. As an evolutionist - Dawkinist even - I won't be persuaded that gender is a fluid quantity and matter of personal choice - it is an "abnormality" which has no survival value, and the power of mind over matter. For me the big problem is that sexual "identity", in other words how one feels about the "Opposite" sex, is a psychological construct because of its inherent contradictions. It relies on a certain amount of 'instinct' to maintain sexual attraction, because too much introspection can confuse and distort it.. But it's a hard subject to discuss or even mention, and good for Vltchek to dare to do so. The case of the Drag Queen lessons for kids in QLD also got me thinking about it again, but the way that the "Same sex marriage" debate completely took over our left and liberal classes to the exclusion of serious discussion - on Syria for instance, confirms what this debate is about.
