I think she should have carefully distinguished between gender and sex. Not saying that would have helped her.
'Woman' and 'man' are genders, which are cultural categories. People can choose which category they feel most comfortable identifying with.
'Male' and 'female' are biological realities. People cannot choose which one they are born into. Nor can they change their biological sex.
The ability to menstruate depends on one's biological sex (and age) not on one's gender.
Thus, females and transgender men can menstruate.
Males and transgender women can't.
