"A purist insistence that supposed original meanings of words should be strictly adhered to won't get you anywhere." Whats "supposed" about it?: Gender still means the same as biological sex to myself and many others: whatever the rarified world of "gender studies" departments would like to pretend it means. The fact that they chose quite the wrong word to abuse isn't my problem. |
