I was one of the lucky ones to recieve the e-mail from the person concerned.
For those who have not recieved the e-mail I have included it in this thread.
"Good morning all,
At yesterday's meeting of the NZACA Executive I resigned as National
Championships Coordinator and as an Executive Committee member.
My reasons for resigning are that there were at least three proposals
available for consideration however only the proposal put forward by
Chad Prentice was put to the vote and was passed by a majority. My
second reason is that a survey of Clubs and Members conducted by Bill
Cronin was not taken into consideration before the vote was put. In my
personal opinion this was a complete "thumb to the nose" for those Clubs
and Members that took the time to provide Bill with feedback.
Fortunately I had been made aware during the week what was being planned
and therefore I arrived at yesterdays meeting prepared to resign. I
have to admit that the lobby group in favour of Chad's proposal was well
organised and came prepared to carry the day.
I personally think the decision made was the wrong one and made for the
sake of money and the ideals of a minority, however time will tell. I
voted against the proposal being introduced, that is all I could do.
To all those that have Emailed me and phoned me over recent times
expressing their concerns about what they were fearing might happen I
thank you for you support and am sorry I wasn't able to do more for
you. I am fully aware that I have upset some members due to my
opposition to some parts of Chad's proposal and they will be happy to
see me out of the picture, that's life and I can live with it knowing I
was taking a stand against something I believed was not in the best
interests of those members & Clubs that make up the NZACA.
To any of you who are sufficiently concerned about the future of the
NZACA, remember you have the option under the Constitution to call a
Special General Meeting. All it takes is one Club or seven members to
call such a meeting.
All the best for the future,"
Well there is no pleasing everyone
