Whether you or anyone else likes it or not, politics and fishing do mix and will continue to do so if anyone is to initiate change. In my view any forum is fair game to this end whether you and your rather small fan club like it or not.
My sense is that most of the people who posted are not, as you seem to think, a 100% happy with the decision. Some apparently are and good luck to them. In my opinion those fishermen who think like you are thankfully in the minority on this issue. If you believe otherwise then you need to get out more.
It seems to me Hangler that you are only happy to criticise those who don't agree with you. You certainly love having a go at me. I don't know why you bother. Unless I'm banned from here I'm not going to go away and I'm not going to stop expressing an opinion. If you don't like it, then don't read my posts.
I'm sure you'd be much happier chilling out on your Marine Parade possie anyway, watching the world go by and waiting for pension day. If your legacy to the fishery is reading the sonnets of William Shakespeare and rehearsing lines from Hamlet then good for you. But allow me to correct you. The correct phrasing is “the lady doth protest to much, methinks”.
It’s hardly surprising you’re a fan of Shakespeare’s. You’re almost as old as he is.
Better still run along back to the golf course and dream of carrying John Key's clubs given your such a fan. But you’re not political are you Hangler? One thing I can assure you of is that he will never carry your rods, but he would happily steal your fish.
