These are my observations from being fortunate to see some of the best fisherman in my home area in action

I dont think they spend more time on the beach but they do fish at the right time and place.

A selection of bait is useful but knowing what bait is preferred at the time seems to be a strong indicator of success

Casting further than most isnt always necessary.

Not necessarily the best gear but the right gear for the spot and time of day/year.

If you had a negative attitude you'd never bother fishing at all.

I think good fisherman will always travel further and keep looking. They also adapt to the circumstances.

They usually can they read the beach better.

Cash and time not always essential.

The guy with the quad or 4 x 4 is likely to catch more than the guy that has to park in the carpark, and walk in my view. You have to find the fish they don't tend to find you.

The one person is doing something better or is just in the right spot.

Fish school so often you dont have to be first in line, just in the line. How often do you see rods going over with Kahawai or snapper along a beach as they swim past.

God has nothing to do with it and its not luck. Its knowledge, perserverance, and skill.
