WHY DON'T THEY HAVE ANY COWS HERE?
Two reasons. 1: It's not America. 2: There are cows.
I mean...yeah, it's true that one doesn't see as many cows in Scotland as in parts of the US. But who cares? Appreciate the sheep. I never saw a sheep in the US. They don't sell lamb meat in the US. So isn't it cool to see sheep in Scotland?
And there are cows in Scotland. Plenty.
WHERE DO WE PUT OUR LUGGAGE?
Up on the racks. But if it's too bulky or you can't lift it, don't worry about it. The train is half empty. Just put it on the seats.
HEY, THEY HAVE FREE WIFI ON THIS CARRIAGE! YEAH, BUT YOU HAVE TO PLUG IT IN. NO YOU DON'T. I DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT PLUG. YOU DON'T HAVE TO PLUG IT IN! LOOK AT THAT GUY!
Your loud husband was right. The wifi is free and you don't have to plug anything in.
LOOK AT THAT HIGH RISE APARTMENT! THEY DON'T HAVE ANYTHING LIKE THAT IN AMERICA!
It's council housing full of poor people. And they have similar buildings in the US. Even taller. Maybe not in Virginia. Some of these buildings are full of poor people, some with wealthy people.
ISN'T THERE ANY PLACE TO PUT YOUR TRASH? PEOPLE HERE MUST JUST PUT THEIR TRASH IN THEIR POCKETS!
It's called "rubbish" here, but there are trash cans aka "bins" between some of the seats. Maybe not on every train. But your loud wife is right. In the absence of nearby bins, people put their refuse in their pockets. Or they just stick it between the seats or leave it on the tables. There are assholes in Scotland too.
I mean, instead of appreciating the stuff that Scotland has to offer, they're just complaining about ways that it's not like the US. How about admiring the scenery? Or taking advantage of that free wifi? I'd be shocked if they have that in the US. They don't even have it in London. But they have it on most trains in Scotland and most train stations. Not even the train stations in London have free wifi.
Let me see if Amtrak has free wifi. Not that people even travel on Amtrak as a commuter thing. I don't think people travel on Amtrak for any reason. "Amtrak offers free basic Wi-Fi service in select trains and stations throughout the country." That's from their own website and it's hardly boasting.
And here's a big difference between the UK and the US. People travel by train. People spend a lot of time in train stations.
You can't go everywhere but you can go to most places. I've gotten along fine. No way could you live without a car in the US with a job that requires a lot of travel across an area the size of Scotland. It would take you six buses to get anywhere. And the buses come every two hours when they come at all. I tried to travel IN THE SAME FAIRLY SMALL TOWN and it required taking three buses and it took six hours. Six hours to travel about 15 miles. Three buses.
I took a so-called intelligence test online. Trying to stay awake. You can take it here:
https://www.psychologytoday.com/test/3198
I got a 120 which puts me in the top 10% but I think the site is just a scam to get you to buy the detailed results. First of all, how detailed can it be? It's a 30 minute test. But secondly, I doubt my results because I wasn't even reading the questions by the end of it. Time was running out (there's no timer on the site, you have to keep track yourself and operate on the honour system) and it was those bullshit "Jane is taller than Sue who's shorter than Bill so Jane must be whatever" nonsense. I have no idea. So I just made blind guesses on all of those. And there were quite a few of them. And there's only like 55 questions total.
Those logic questions in the beginning were a pain too but I did my best. Math stuff was a lot of guessing. I nailed the vocabulary and analogy sections, though.
There really should be a free, legitimate test that one could take by now. These tests have existed for over 100 years, surely. Just make an online version. How hard can it be? They must be out of copyright by now.
Still, top 10% of intelligence. That's probably about right. I'm not a supergenius by any means but look at the crap that most everybody seems to enjoy. Mrs Browns Boys, for example. Sorry for the dated reference but I haven't had a television in years now. I watched Mrs Browns Boys for sixty seconds and realised that this was not for me.
And just look at the way people conduct themselves while in public. The drunks, the screeching dumbasses, the jackass on his phone.
And written communication. Look at the way the average person writes a forum message. Or a Youtube message if you really want to see some garbage.
So I'd say top 10% is probably about right but only in the sense that there are a lot of straight up morons out there.
Working again tomorrow. Not looking forward to it. It's just been one day and I only worked one day last week but I just don't want to do it. There's so much walking. The court is pretty far from the station. And I have to walk to the further station on the journey to and from my home as well. So my legs hurt. And I have old shoes that need to be replaced. The sole is wearing out. So my feet hurt too. And I have to carry that bag full of crap which doesn't help.
Well, it's almost 10.00. I can go to sleep now.
