That van guy never got back to me. What a douche. So I contacted a few others. One guy said it would be £35. I don't know how he can make a profit. £35 for two hours of work. Heavy lifting. Paying for petrol. The toll it takes on the van.

This guy I used two years ago was £45.

Anyway, only one of the three people I contacted was available on Saturday. He charged £30/hour. But I say that's about right for this work.

There are just too many men with vans and it's a race to the bottom. No way would I do that work for £17/hour or whatever that first guy was asking for.

Anyway, hopefully this guy shows up. It's my last day that I'll be able to stay in the property.

Internet is another concern. The broadband package should arrive on Saturday. But that's the day I'm moving. It will be arriving at my new address but if it's there in the morning, I'll miss it.

And then I have to figure out how to set it up. It's Virgin. It seems to be something that engineers should be doing.

It's going to cause a problem with work. I won't receive new job offers or cancellations or whatever.

I could switch to an internet deal on my phone. But I looked at the numbers. I'm currently on a pay as you go deal and I only top up £5-10 a month. This internet deal is £10/month just for internet. Phone calls would become 10p more a minute than what I'm currently paying. And I can't go back to the old plan once I switch, which is bullshit.

I suppose that I could buy a sim card and just use that for the £10/month internet thing. Although, I'm not sure how easy it is to find sim cards any more. You used to be able to get them at the grocery store. Forget about going to a phone store. I tried that once and they tried to sell me a phone. I walked straight out.

Third option: hang out in the train station like a hobo and use their free wifi. Coffee shops would also work. But what a huge pain in the ass.

Although, I'd only need to do it once a day to check emails. I don't know.
