This is one of those grey areas where you carry out a repair that is supposed to last 5 years or 60,000 miles but the manufacturer only gives 1 year or 12,000 miles warranty. Unless they can prove to you that the failure was caused by your workmanship then don't give an inch. I would advise the supplier of a possible claim against them and then give the owner of the vehicle the suppliers contact details. 1) The repair is out of warranty - so is not your problem. 2) If you know for a fact that you gave all relevant details to the supplier to supply you with the correct parts - again it's not your problem. Tell him to sort it out between the supplier and the belt manufacturer. Dont lose any sleep over it mate ! Regards Dave
