In reply to Phil's post: I contacted my customer, the original owner, in case he had been contacted by the new owner. Mainly, I wanted to assure him that had the failure occurred if he still owned the car then I would be taking more interest in getting involved. Proving the liability of the manufacturer and factor might be an issue but it would be most important to protect my customer from all that hassle. I could pursue my claim separately. After all, how do do balance the cost of me compensating him now against future loss of business and recommendations etc. if I don't? I told him the situation and he said that he would consider that as the contract was between me and him, then any warranty would not apply. He also said that if he was contacted he "would sing my praises from the rooftops". WHAT a nice man! Thank you for all your replies and moral support guys! It is much appreciated. Steve
