Hi Steve, Have you been given the opportunity inspect the components, tensioners, water pump, belt etc?All manufacturers, to my knowledge, would definitely not accept any warrantee claim carried out by anyone else. Imagine ringing a ford dealer & say that the mondeo they fitted a belt to has failed & my local Renault dealer has stripped it apart & could they pay? You get the point. Just to add, if the incorrect belt had been fitted, surely it would not have lasted for over 12 months? finally I have just typed in : warranty non-transferable , into Google & the majority of cases says the warrantee is non-transferable, I would guess the contract for the repair was between you & the original customer. there seems too many discrepancies for you to be liable.
