Is this not History repeating itselt. The last project siemens got involved in "just did not work", they went back to using the old systems. Does this goverment never learn from its mistakes
This quote is from another site:
"Computerised systems are themselves prone to malfunction: the introduction of the Working Families Tax Credit scheme was marred by technical difficulties. The Immigration and Nationality Service ultimately terminated its contract with Siemens, abandoning its electronic system. Problems with the Criminal Records Bureau, the Child Support Agency and the Benefits Agency have caused hardship and distress to thousands of people in the UK. The effect of computer malfunction on a child protection system that is reliant upon technology would be infinitely more dangerous.
Computer systems can be infected with viruses, and they can also be hacked. To give just one example: in February 2003 a hacker breached security systems to gain access to 5 million Visa and Mastercard accounts. No computer system is invulnerable, and the implications are profound of an unauthorised person gaining access to a database containing the personal details of several thousand children, together with indications of their vulnerability."
All you MOT testers, "keep a stiff upper lip" its not british to complain
