Hi Paul,
Ill get more info tomorrow at work,is this the electronic throttle type, are you able to tell if the signal is being lost to this unit. You probably already know that it works independent of the throttle pedal, the ecu controls it depending on the sensor information it recieves.
The only other fault I have come across was on a skoda TDI, the solenoid valve for the shut off valve was playing up so the air shut off caused the veh to stall.
Hope this helps, Ill get more info tomorrow, could you post the chassis number for ease.
