Hi Gunner,
came across a weird one today with your symptoms, it turned out to be a leaf had dropped into airbox and every now and then it would block the air mass meter. Just a thought.
Is it pump diesel or edc?
If edc try checking the fuel control solonoid in the pump.
When the vac goes to 0, can you check if the signal from ecu to solonoid actuator valve is still present.
Does veh cut out totally or just go to idle with no acceleration?
