I thought he made a fair point: why was there a referendum after the last one (in the 70s) when Britain voted to join the EEC?
After how many years is it reasonable to have another vote?
My feeling is that if you vote on something that results in a major upheaval (as Brexit will be), it should be supported by a significant majority (eg maybe 60%-40%), something that's not true for the Brexit vote. So, from this viewpoint, another referendum is not so outrageous. Voting for the status quo on the other hand, means no new laws/rules/debates etc. since you just carry on as before.
