Yes, I said the referendum was "insane", that's pretty self-evident. But if you don't like the word "insane", then you could choose other words, misguided, cynical, divisive, unnecessary, - all of which apply and together might be consider pretty insane with such a major constitutional issue. But I didn't say you, as a Brexiter, were insane, just an idiot. But I also said remainers were idiots as well, the proviso being the idea that either leaving the EU or staying in it is going to help the UK deal with its multiplicity of economic and social woes. That's the idiocy. Whether Brexiter are more idiotic than remainers, well, I'll leave that question, but as to the total result and what's been happening in the UK, that's idiotic enough, insane enough even. I have yet to hear one single sound argument in favour of Brexit that makes any logical, economic, political or social sense. That doesn't mean that I think the EU is something so great either, and If the UK weren't a member and if the question were now , should we join the EU or remain outside of it, you might make a good case for the latter. But that's not what happened, leaving the EU and staying in it are not equal and opposite decisions. The opposite of leaving was joining. The problems of leaving the EU are vastly greater than the supposed benefits. And over 48% of the voting public, your fellow citizens, would agree with me. If you think I'm arrogant, don't apologise, that's your opinion, just as I've given my opinion here. I don't know you, you may be the kindest and jolliest fellow in the UK, but as a group, Brexiters really worry me with their own arrogance and inability to compromise. - that they should vote for this cynical braggart and manipulative man called Farage, whose actual interest in the people who vote for him is minimal, is really disturbing. This thread started with arch Brexiter GG's unfortunate demolition of JC, I think that's a pretty good example of what I mean. But thanks for the feedback! Cheers.
