you are right about the shock doctrine - Farrage or Johnson would behave like Yeltsin Archived Message

did imposing economic shock therapy with their US buddies waiting in the wings to cherrypick our resources in the confusion. The wealthy with their overseas tax haven hidey-holes have no worries about the likely impact of short term economic effects which JC is seeking to avoid for the 99% of us who are not protected. There are some very weird contradictory things going on in the UK - particularly in politics. Most of the Labour MPs want to get rid of JC but can't afford a general election where they may not even get a chance to stand again because of their stance against the mass of the Labour party membership. At the same time the Labour membership is split down the centre over Brexit whilst Labour voters do not seem to be entirely in synch with the membership given that most did not turn out for Labour in the EU election. The result of the EU election is exactly what the Bliarites wanted but I don't think they can take a 2nd referendum as the best policy for Labour - it is clearly the best policy for them as it will tear up the relationship between JC and their historical heartlands. If I was JC I would certainly say let's have a 2nd referendum but the options to vote for should only be variations on Brexit, there should be no remain option since this has already been decided by the 2016 referendum. All those coming out in opposition to this would expose themselves as non-democratic remainers. The excuse of following the well trodden path of trade union negotiation by putting a deal back to the members was a false analogy. This is because trade union deals would never have had the option of accepting the bosses deal of lying down prostrate before them for shoe cleaning purposes - it would usually be take some money or some improved conditions or go on strike for a better deal. cheers
