I wouldn't normally, but if I may
It seems pretty clear to me that all brooks is saying it wasn't exactly a savvy move by GG - he was asking for it (jeopardising his platform to broadcast to lots of people; get alternative message across and so on). And all over something that didn't merit that sort of gamble. A GG tweet on football supporters' flags isn't gonna change the world, is it? Is that about right? Seems like a reasonable enough observation to me. Did I pass the basic comprehension test?
Others are saying 'no compromises!' (or you're a 'bleating liberal' or some such.). Which seems to miss the point.
Is being savvy a compromise? I don't reckon it is. Unless GG did this deliberately for the publicity, because he's already got something else lined up (or....whatever, who knows what his motivations might be?), then it seems a bit reckless; bad tactic; bad strategy etc..
Discretion is the better part of valour - who said that? Doesn't that apply here? Or maybe that makes me a liberal too?
Anyway, you're all arguing at cross purposes - and looks like turtle just wants to kick off another verbal joust with his old sparring partner cuz he's a had a couple of tequilas or sumthin.
