Any person with even a rudimentary grasp of human psychology and history knows that clean, limitless energy would be an absolute perfect catastrophe for the species. Humans are artists. We were built to work hard, discipline our passions, control our character, and make the most out of less. When we give into our weak, animalistic, hedonistic tendencies, we wreak havoc and evil that literally shakes the Earth. Leisure and happiness are the most foolish goals imaginable. They're nice things, yes, but people who eat well do not make dessert their goal. For example. turtleman
