Yes, there is no information given online. Google patents is sometimes informative. I've not looked. They mention asymmetric magnets (one pole stronger than the other) and the gravitational slingshot effect (an asymmetric orbit in which the closest approach of the orbiting body corresponds to its highest speed). These two would be analogous in a rotating system: As the stronger pole of the asymmetric magnet approached the opposite pole of the fixed magnet it would pick up speed. Beyond that, it is not clear what they could actually be doing. Presumably it picks up enough speed to break away after passing the pole.
