Thanks, an interesting explanation on possibilities. I tried looking it up but only found promotional stuff rather than explanations, which mildly annoyed me. Obviously, if this invention works it's more in line with Elon musk ideology than I'd want to see.. Magnets very obviously used in the creation of electricity, as a means of getting the electrons moving. Mechanical energy is harnessed as a first step. If magnets can physically move other magnets or ferric material then it seems likely someone could figure out how to harness that potential energy for step 1. How much energy could potentially be harnessed vs how much used in magnet making and running of the machine I have no idea, which is probably key to whether it could work. What i would like to see is design and numbers, but I won't dismiss out of hand until then. Alt example re naysayers is hydrogen fuel cells )the portable on the fly versions for adapting int comb engines ). They absolutely work, but the complete lack of interest high up the chain coupled with strawman arguments against only show us vested interest is not in cleaner energy. All that said, I'm with tman in that we don't need more excuses for business as usual. Climate change might be related to co2, but were poisoning the planet in every other way at the same time. Fixing that won't release us from the intractable problem that we are destroying the planet through our dependence on electrical/mechanical energy. Everything we do requires resources that are finite, not just the energy. Cheers
