You're splitting straws. The eurozone is intertwined with the eu, and the members include the eu members that control the eu too (the rich ones). And it was deemed unacceptable to them because it would have threatened the euro and in turn the economic power of the eu.. Supposedly. Greece got screwed by the internal muttering of the inner circle of the eurozone and the eu (same people). The lesson for other small countries with less economic clout is they can be thrown under the bus if need be. No unity between the rich and the poor, and as we both know, rich countries get rich by keeping the poor in their places. No wonder so many Brits had had enough of the ruse. It was never about misplaced trust in the uk to do the right thing by its people, but more about the fact that the eu is not doing the right thing by the poor either, so who ####ing needs em? I can't say I blame the majority for their attitude on that score.
