But I'm not making an argument. I posed a question. The question was one of principle, not specifics. The argument made in the quote I used was that a public vote should be supported because it's democratic. Why is it so hard to answer?
In spite fio what you say, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that a future govt. might put to the public the question of the death penalty. Would you support the public will based on the principle being aired here, or would you do everything you could to sabotage it?
It's an easy question; either you believe in the principle or you don't.
