You're picking and choosing. As I said, the us is already in breach of international law on the issue, and the U.K. Tends to ignore also human rights laws in both the un and the eu that it can't be bothered following.
All we can do to fight those (sane) laws being dismantled or ignored is to get off our arses as they arise.
Now, if you believe democracy is a bad idea, then we must also dispense with voting in general elections, or at least not be bothered with govt reclassifying them as advisory. And since our govt has always been so much more upstanding than the people, I imagine we will all be much happier under an authoritarian rule.
Or, if you believe it's a good idea, then democracy can't be shunned when it's a result you don't like (like a Tory govt, or a vote to leave another govt). If you want to make human rights laws, however, being a human rights lawyer is a good start. And if any govt decides to make anti human rights laws, you'd best be prepared to stand up and make a fuss. You can do that now, not so much once they realise that no one gives a fig about democracy anymore.
Fwiw, if there were a vote in the uk I reckon no dp would win. U.K. People Not as dumb as Californians. But, there should never be such a vote.
