I suppose we see what we want to see - i haven't read that much of marx (depsite it apparently oozing out of me), but i don't recognise the interesting complex and nuanced ideas i did read about in the caricature i see reflected back from you, or in the stuff about him in the usual media propaganda channels.
You said you agreed about the problem of hydra-head regeneration - that's a structural critique; that is to say, only some sort of structural rearrangement can prevent the problems that arise out of the structure of the status quo; this is pretty much how i define socialism in the widest sense.
